Sneak Peeks_part 3: negotiations in space

Focusing on spatial issues, the experience of boundaries and open space, perspectives and distances, I have created a series of light objects that I will show in Vaduz; in combination with a new construction to be build on site. The photographs were taken during my recent journeys in England, Germany and Norway, along the coast and out at sea.

"'Deformations on the flat universe IV - totem display' is a chain of associations through text, pictures, videos and objects re-organized through time according to the experience and responses in context.
Starting with the insights, observations, and experiences of the artist this year in Brazil, during the exhibition the totem display will change showing new insights and outputs. The idea is of a constant changing artwork that explicit relationships in the artist thinking process between history, place, time and consciousness."

Frauke Materliks Arbeiten bestehen aus dreidimensionalen Konstruktionen und Fotografie. Sie schafft Konstruktionen, die sowohl als Rahmen für ihre Performances, als auch als eigenständige Arbeiten funktionieren. Es sind fiktionale Landschaften zwischen Materialität und Immaterialität. Als ausgebildete Landschaftsarchitektin schafft die Künstlerin mit interventionen und kommuniziert mit dem umliegenden Raum. Die Grenzen zwischen realem Raum und Fiktion, zwischen Innen und Aussen werden aufgelöst.

Frauke Materliks works consist of three-dimensional structures and photography. She creates installations that function both as a framework for performances, as well as independent works. There are fictional landscapes that oscillate between materiality and immateriality. As a trained landscape architect, the artist works with interventions and communicates with the surrounding area.
